Most people don't know about what is called the indy scene, this is where the want to
be wrestlers get to show their talents. Since I am in the PA area my favorite indy promotion is Far North Wrestling(FNW) this
promotion is home to such wrestlers as Sterling James Keenan, T Rantula, Kevin Grace, Ariel, and Phoenix. I love the indy
scene because you get to be more personal with the wrestlers and they get to display their talent their own way.
Depending
on how big the indy promotion that you go to is most of the time you do not have a barrier blocking you from the wrestlers.
This, I believe, lets you get to know their character better. Also, you may get to talk with your favorite wrestler either
in or out of character and this allows you to get close to them. FNW has about a half an hour break in the middle of their
matches where you would be able to get autographs and talk with the wrestlers. I have been going to almost all of their events
and have gotten close to Kevin Grace and T Rantula, both are regulars. Indy promotions allow you to get close to the wrestlers
and their characters and this allows you to become a better bigger wrestling fan.
WWE takes over once you get into
their doors. They give you your character and tell you how to sell his name. In independent promotions you get to create your
own character and decide hoe to make him popular. You get to decide when and how to turn heal or face, good or bad. This allows
the wrestler to explore all of his possibilities. When you are not told how to act or what to wear you are able to use your
imagination and your real talent will show.
